ENGLISH RECIPE VERSION #1
Ingredients
- FOR THE ALBÓNDIGAS
- 1½POUNDS GROUND CHUCK
- 1LARGE EGG
- 1TEASPOON SALT
- 1TEASPOON PEPPER
- 1TEASPOON GARLIC POWDER
- 1/2TEASPOON CUMIN
- 1/3CUP ONION FINELY CHOPPED
- 1LARGE JALAPEÑO PEPPER SEEDED AND MINCED
- 1½TABLESPOONS PARSLEY OR CILANTRO FINELY CHOPPEDYOU WILL ALSO NEED
- 4-6 BUN ROLLS OR SIMILAR
- tomatoe sauce
- 8 OUNCES OF CHEESE MOZZARELLA
- GRILLED ONIONS AND JALAPEÑO PEPPERS (OPTIONAL)
- In a large bowl, combine the beef, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin, onion, jalapeño and parsley. Stir well to combine. Roll 12 equal-size meatballs and place onto a plate or tray. Flatten the meatballs slightly so they resemble a fat hamburger patty. Cover and refrigerate.
- Preheat a couple of tablespoons of oil in a large skillet at medium heat. Brown the meatballs for 2-3 minutes per side. Place the chile ancho sauce back onto low heat and add the meatballs as you are done browning them. When done, let the meatballs simmer for 15 minutes.
- PUTTING IT TOGETHER: Preheat broiler on high. For the sabdwich, slice your buns open and remove just a little of the bread inside. To each bolillo, carefully add 3 meatballs. Spoon in some sauce. Add 2 ounces of cheese to each one. Place on baking sheet or pan, open side up. Place under broiler just until cheese melts. Serve with grilled jalapeños and onions.
SPANISH RECETA VERSION #2: Para 4 personas: Carne picada 1/2 kg Menta fresca 1 puñado Cúrcuma 2 cdas Ajo seco 1 cda Tomillo 1 rama Pan 4 Leche c/n Sal Pimienta Sándwich: Pan pita o otro Queso mozza (extra) Lechuga 1 planta Cebolla Morrón COMO HACER: colocar en un bol la carne picada, la menta picada, cúrcuma, ajo seco, tomillo picado, ralladura de limón y pan remojado en leche. Salpimentar, agregar un chorrito de oliva y amasar bien hasta lograr una masa firme. Formar bolitas de 5 cm de diámetro y cocer al horno medio en placa aceitada (20 MIUTOS) Para el armado, abrir el pan tipo sandwich, sumar queso (extra),cebolla, lechuga y morrón picados, las albóndigas y cerrar.
